We have all had that feeling when we are set to fly. You have packed your bag, you know what’s in it. Yet when you approach that security counter, your mind starts to go ultra-paranoid. Did I leave liquid in there? Maybe matches? I lost scissors 6 months ago, I bet it is in this bag.
Usually, everything turns out fine, the bag passes through, you walk through the metal detectors and off you go. Occasionally they find something small and you have to bin it. However, have you ever been traveling, they check your bags, and find a cat!? That is what happened Voirrey and Nick Cole on a recent trip.
The couple was flying all the way from the UK to New York to celebrate both of their birthdays when security unzipped one of their bags and the surprise purred at them. The couple was shocked and had no idea how she got in there. Of course, to a cat, any box, suitcase or comfortable compartment is a beautiful opportunity for a nap and Candy (the cat) couldn´t refuse.
The couple had deliberately left their bags pretty empty so they could fit some extra NY gifts in on the way home, little did they realize, Candy had other ideas. While it is a funny story, we have all been at the security gates, knowing that if one little thing goes wrong, you will miss your flight. So did they make it? Security stepped in like absolute pros and helped to solve the whole problem, ensuring Nick and Voirrey made their flight. The couple was delighted to see how the security team saw the lighter side of the incident and helped them to get the cat home while they went on their way.
It is times like these that you need good friends and the couple were fortunate to be able to call on some to pick up Candy from the airport so they could go on their journey. Spare a thought for poor Candy though. Candy clearly thought she would be the surprise for the couple while celebrating their birthday in New York but she didn´t make it. Caught out in the end but only barely. Next time Candy, next time!
