Wearing new clothes the first time after you have bought them. The fabric looks beautiful and all colors are still clear. Nothing is less beautiful than old washed clothes. You expect that new clothing is wonderfully clean and there are few bacteria on it, just like when you are wearing second-hand clothing.
Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth.
Research
Under the direction of Dr. Ir. Philip Tierno, research from the University of New York has studied the presence of bacteria on new clothing. With the following result: New clothing contains a lot of bacteria, including traces of excrements and flakes of the skin.
Bah! This means that clothing is not as clean as we thought. It also makes sense, because chances are that someone has already worn the clothing once right back in the fitting room.
Always wash that new clothing before wearing it!
