The American Beaver
The American Beaver is no doubt a national treasure whose image permeates nearly every facet of American life. As one of the two remaining beaver species on the planet, a lot of care has gone into conserving this fascinating creature. It’s ability to naturally construct dams using mud, sticks, twigs and leaves is mind-blowing, and it plays a monumental role in the ecosystem it lives in.
The American Alligator
Plunge deep into the waters of the Florida Everglades; lo and behold sits the mighty American Alligator waiting to snap its jaws at unsuspecting prey. Though not as massive and intimidating as their Saltwater cousins in the land down under, these semi-aquatic beasts have been known to savor human meat on their menu from time to time!
The Brown Bear
Atop of the food chain sits the most dominant predator on land, the brown bear. Its power is frightening and despite its hefty size, bears have been known to reach breakneck speeds of up to 33 mph. The American Moose

As the largest deer species, this majestic beast is distinctly separated from its African cousins with its unique antlers. The Monarch Butterfly
Beautiful but deadly, the monarch butterfly is conspicuous in the Yankee wild due to its orange wings adorned with black veins. This particular insect begins its life as a humble caterpillar before metamorphosizing into the beautiful butterfly it is today!
The Arctic Wolf
One cannot speak of the amazing animals found on the Northern American landscape without mentioning the arctic wolf. A massive specimen, these wolves can measure up to 30 inches from the shoulder and come in at 180 pounds. The most distinct habit of the Arctic Wolf is its ability to live in packs, making them a force to reckon with.
The Nine Banded Armadillo
Nowhere on the planet will you find Armadillo so widespread like the Americas. A creature that likes to keep to itself, this solitary species is a nocturnal nightmare for insects with a ravenous appetite that goes on and on. Unfortunately, its nocturnal tendencies make it frequent roadkill on American highways when vision is obscured.
